Bear Brum 2026 — The Weekend, and Where to Stay
Bear Brum is Birmingham’s own bear weekend — Friday 25 to Sunday 27 September 2026 — taking over the Gay Village with a welcome night, cabaret, a daytime bears’ market, club nights (DANDY, BEEFMINCE), karaoke, bingo and a Sunday comedy wind-down. It’s a destination weekend: people travel in from across the UK and beyond, so most come for the whole thing and stay over. It is Bear Brum’s own event — it partners with others to produce the weekend.
This is a weekend you come for, not a night you drop into. Three days, one compact Village, and a crowd that’s travelled in from all over — which is exactly why you book a bed and do the lot rather than picking one night and missing the rest.
The weekend, mapped
The shape: Friday opens gently — a welcome night at The Fountain Inn, cabaret up at The Fox, then the late ones for anyone still standing. Saturday’s the big one: the daytime bears’ market, games, karaoke upstairs and a club night that runs well past midnight. Sunday’s for recovery — a proper bears’ breakfast, an afternoon of bingo, and comedy to see the weekend out. Then home Monday, slowly.

Getting here
New Street is a few minutes’ walk from the Village, where every Bear Brum event happens — so stay central and you’re never more than five minutes from the next one. It’s a single September weekend; book the bed early.
