Birmingham Drag & Burlesque Festival presents:
Ballet Technique To Burlesque with Lioness
This workshop focuses on strong ballet fundamentals with an
emphasis on technique, control, and performance quality. The class
is designed to build dancers’ understanding of how movement is
executed with clarity, strength, and artistry. Rather than focusing
on learning a full routine, the session develops core technical
foundations and then applies them into short movement phrases and a
small choreographed sequence toward the end of the workshop. The
focus remains primarily on technique, alignment, musicality, and
performance presence. Participants will explore the relationship
between dancer and performer, developing confidence in both
technical execution and expressive delivery.

What to bring:
-Comfortable clothes or
gym wear.
-Ballet shoes are recommended
but not essential
-water

ABOUT LIONESS:
Lioness is a creative practitioner and performer with over 25 years
of experience in the dance and performance industry. Her work
focuses on empowering dancers through movement, expression, and
performance confidence. She specialises in blending strong
technical foundations with artistic development, encouraging
individuals to connect discipline with creativity.
